Understanding the Result
We can only estimate websites based on what is publicly known. If the website is content-based, the estimator is very good. The website could be worth a lot more if it gathers users information or/and if it is part of a bigger business. Take the result lightly and in good perspective. How accurate is the estimate? In terms of comparing two websites, its probably very good. If the website is content based only, its probably very good. However, it's probably under-estimated for website that gathers user information (such as emails) or sell services/products. For example, we estimate google worth around 2Billions, but we all know google is worth alot more. But if google only had web pages (no clients, no services, no products) with the same History/Popularity/Friendliness/Interest/Recognition/Depth, our estimate would probably be quite good. Criteria of the Analysis: Website History This criteria tell us how long the website has been on the Internet. Criteria of the Analysis: Website Popularity The top 500 websites gets about 90% of all Internet traffic. So if your website is at position 2,000,000, it definitly means not many people visits it. Criteria of the Analysis: Friendliness Is your website friendly enough so other webmaster link to it? Would you rather have a friend named "google" than have a friend named "noname"? The importance of your friends are important in this criteria. Criteria of the Analysis: Interest Not only it is hard to get people to visit your website, but how many pages can you get them to look at before they go away. Criteria of the Analysis: Recognition This is the measurement of how many other websites links to you. Friendliness is the quality of your friend. Recognition is the quantity of your friend. Criteria of the Analysis: Depth Potential This criteria evaluate the size of your website in the quantity of recognized accessible pages.
